How to Enjoy & FAQ

How should I drink mezcal?

Neat, and slowly. Pour about an ounce at room temperature into a small glass or copita. Let it breathe for a minute, take a small first sip to wake up your palate, then let the next one sit on your tongue.

Traditionally it's served with orange slices and sal de gusano. It also makes an outstanding mezcal Negroni, Paloma or Margarita.

What's the difference between mezcal and tequila?

Tequila is made only from blue Weber agave and its agave is usually steamed. Mezcal can be made from dozens of agave species and is traditionally roasted in earth or stone ovens — which gives it deeper, more complex and often smoky flavor.

What does "Ensamble" mean?

An ensamble is a mezcal made from more than one agave species, roasted and distilled together. Our ensambles blend Espadín with Cuishe or Mexicano for a layered flavor you can't get from a single agave.

What do "Joven" and "Artesanal" mean on the label?

Joven means the mezcal is unaged — bottled straight from the still to show the pure character of the agave. Artesanal is an official category for mezcal made with traditional methods like earth-oven roasting and small-batch distillation.

How should I store an open bottle?

Keep it upright, sealed, and out of direct sunlight at room temperature. Mezcal doesn't age in the bottle, and an opened bottle will stay great for a year or more.

Should I buy a single, 3 pack or 6 pack?

Single bottles are perfect for trying something new. 3 and 6 packs are ideal for stocking up on a favorite, gifting, or hosting — select the size above the Add to Cart button.
